The 2027 World Championships awarded to France in Haute-Savoie

The UCI has just announced that France will host the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships, 27 years after Plouay in Brittany. The road events are expected to take place in Haute-Savoie, probably on a circuit similar to the one that crowned Bernard Hinault in 1980 with the famous Domancy climb. As in Glasgow (Scotland) in 2023, all cycling disciplines are expected to be contested during the same two-week period, from September 11 to 26, 2027. For the occasion, the construction of an indoor velodrome in the region is planned.
