Clément Clisson and Laurianne Plaçais chased each other for 1000 km and 64 ascents of the course in the heart of the Basque Country and the Pyrenees, showing impressive resilience. Clément finally won in 58h17min of effort, just two minutes ahead of Laurianne.

Of the 95 ultracyclists who started in Anglet (64), 67 managed to reach the finish line. The “lanterne rouge” Stephen REW (65 years old) completed the event in 117h55min and took home his 4th BikingMan! The first team, Michele Verdoja and Tommaso Bovi, from Italy, completed the EUSKADI in 80h55min.

Clément Clisson wins the Basque Country stage for the second consecutive year with a slightly longer time than in 2021. The first woman, Laurianne, shattered the event’s best time set in 2021 by Nathalie Baillon by nearly 22 hours.
