PROS – Bretagne Classic 2022 Ouest France in Plouay: the course, the profile, TV broadcast times, and the start list

The Bretagne Classic 2022 (formerly Grand Prix de Plouay) takes place on Sunday, August 28. The road race portion of the course first offers a loop that winds through the hilly roads of Morbihan to its Gulf, between Plouay and Theix, then passes through Plumélec (with the ascent of the Cadoudal climb) to return to Plouay. As has been the case for several editions, two gravel sections will have to be ridden, the second being about fifty kilometers from the finish. Finally, the riders will take on a new demanding 11.7 km final circuit (to be ridden only once), north of the town. On the program: 254.860 km and 3,384 m of elevation gain. Among the entrants, the French defending champion Benoît Cosnefroy (AG2R – Citroën Team), winner last year of a great battle against world champion Julian Alaphilippe (absent this year) will be at the start. The Belgian powerhouse Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) will also be present and is considered the ultra-favorite, after his second place on Sunday, August 21 in Hamburg for his comeback race after the Tour de France. Among the French riders to watch, David Gaudu, Arnaud Démare (Groupama-FDJ), Warren Barguil (Arkéa-Samsic) or Benjamin Thomas and Victor Lafay (Cofidis) will try to make their mark.
