Zwift, the global online fitness platform for cyclists, unveils the 2022 Zwift Academy program. Four weeks of training (half the length of previous years’ programs) to help every cyclist, regardless of their level, go further in their practice and be faster, stronger, and smarter on their bike.

Zwift Academy registrations opened on August 15 and events will begin on September 12 and end on October 9, 2022. In addition to the benefits of this exceptional training program, the Zwift Academy is above all a unique opportunity for every cyclist to prove what they’ve got. Because at the end of the month-long event, a contract with two top-tier professional cycling teams will be awarded to the two athletes (1 woman, 1 man) who have shone the most throughout the program.

To make the Zwift Academy more accessible, the program has been simplified: only the Baseline and Finish Line rides must be completed at scheduled times. The six structured workouts and the Pro Contender workouts can be done whenever desired, so that riders can schedule their rides at times that suit them. This year’s Academy includes:
  • 1 optional “Orientation Ride“, which takes place before the program begins.
  • 1 “Baseline Ride“, performed on the Legends and Lava route, which determines the rider’s phenotype and calibrates the workouts.
  • 1 “Finish Line Ride“, performed on the Legends and Lava route, available only during the last two weeks of the Academy, which will allow riders to measure their progress.
  • 6 structured workouts, with short and long training options.
  • 2 additional Pro Contender workouts, for those who wish to try to secure a pro contract.

First launched in 2016, the Zwift Academy has served as a model for the digital identification of tomorrow’s great champions.

The Zwift Academy winner has the chance to win a contract with the UCI Women’s WorldTour team CANYON//SRAM Racing. The man, meanwhile, will secure a contract with the UCI ProTeam Alpecin-Deceuninck.

This year’s Zwift Academy road cycling program is designed to help participants discover their strengths and identify areas for improvement to become a more complete rider. The Zwift Academy also teaches participants how to train effectively.
