Stages Cycling Introduces Power Meter for Shimano Dura-Ace and Ultegra 12-Speed Cranksets

Stages Cycling now offers new options for Shimano R9200 (Dura-Ace 12-speed) and R8100 (Ultegra 12-speed) cranksets, with a drive-side power meter, in addition to the already available left-side crank arm sensor.

Stages Cycling announced an expansion of its power meter options at Eurobike last Wednesday, to include the latest Shimano 12-speed Dura-Ace R9200 and Ultegra R8100 cranksets.

In December 2021, Stages began offering factory-installed Dura-Ace R9200 and Ultegra R8100 power meters as unilateral Stages L (left-side) units, not drive-side, with the same technology used in countless professional victories, including Tadej Pogacar’s 2020 Tour de France win. Stages R drive-side crank arms and Stages LR dual-sided cranksets for Shimano’s 12-speed groupsets feature a new power meter design. The units will be available for purchase in Fall 2022.

Like all Stages power meters, these new Dura-Ace and Ultegra units are individually built and calibrated in Boulder, Colorado, to the same rigorous standards of performance, accuracy, and reliability as the rest of their product line.

This month marks the 10th anniversary of the first Stages power meter. The current Gen 3 Stages Power technology offers 1.5% accuracy, active temperature compensation for consistent performance regardless of weather conditions, IPX7 water resistance, and user-replaceable CR2032 batteries.

“We are thrilled to offer a dual-sided Stages power meter on the latest Shimano crankset,” said Pat Warner, Senior Vice President of Product Development. “Our top priority is to provide cutting-edge technology to help cyclists achieve their goals. These new models add to the many tools Stages has to offer.”

Customers who have already purchased a Stages power meter for R9200 or R8100 will be able to purchase a drive-side sensor and pair it with their existing left-side unit to create a dual-sided unit.
