Officine Mattio launches the Lemma RT, the new carbon fiber frame, which sits at the top of the Lemma family from the Cuneo-based brand. The name Lemma is part of Officine Mattio’s history: it marks the brand’s beginning, as it was its very first frame. The name was inspired by the alpine climb near Cuneo where the founder, Giovanni Monge Roffarello, tested the prototype of what would become the precursor to all Officine Mattio bikes.
This Lemma RT is the first frame in Officine Mattio’s new RT range, designed for cyclists, whether amateurs, professionals, or simply enthusiasts, looking for the best of current cycling engineering to perform at their best in every competition.
The new Lemma RT frame is made in Italy by Officine Mattio. For this new model, made using the proven IWS (Internal Wrapping System) technology, i.e., internal and external wrapping, the brand used T 1100 G carbon fiber, pre-impregnated with a special high-performance resin that gives the whole an unparalleled lightness.
Lightness (only 640 g for a size 54 frame), technology, handling, and a neat and discreet aesthetic are the main characteristics of the new Lemma RT. Starting with the curved shape of the Officine Mattio fork, which gives the bike even more control and safety on descents, and ending with the original shape at the rear of the frame. The chainstays have been modified and the sections optimized to offer higher stiffness and resistance to flex-torsion, while giving the bike an extremely modern and clean look.
The top tube, widened compared to previous Lemma models, fully embraces the head tube, also widened and with a 1.5″ diameter, which gives the bike greater maneuverability. Finally, the bottom bracket shell features a new structure, which makes it both stiffer and lighter than previous models.
The Lemma RT model also stands out for a very refined detail: the front connection of the head tube, designed by Officine Mattio and made using a 3D printer. It blends perfectly with the OM SHARP handlebar and adds a touch of high-tech elegance to the front of the bike. This connection will also be included in the frame kit, for those who wish to assemble their own Officine Mattio Lemma RT.
The new frame is available in an infinite number of colors offered in the Officine Mattio palette and will be available in the 2022-23 catalog in four different configurations. As is the rule at Officine Mattio, it will always be possible to customize the bike according to the riders’ assembly preferences via the configurator on the website.
The Lemma RT is available in disc brake (Disc) and traditional brake (Rim) versions and in
