6 days of pure mountain biking in the heart of Haute Maurienne Vanoise

Over the years, this multi-stage X-Country mountain bike event has established itself as the great mountain bike festival. It is the only UCI (International Cycling Union) multi-stage race in France with its Competition Mode. The Transmaurienne Vanoise offers three other Modes – Ultra, Randonnée (Touring), Children – so that everyone can participate.

The Competition Mode, flagship event of the Transmaurienne Vanoise

In Competition Mode, from Monday, July 18 to Friday, July 22, riders will embark on an adventure across the Haute Maurienne Vanoise. This mode offers five days of racing this year, for a true multi-stage XC (Cross-country) mountain bike event. On the program, three formulas to choose from: 5 stages, one of which is contested in an XCO (Olympic Cross-country format). Participants will then have to complete a short and fast-paced circuit several times, combining technical and fast sections.

Parcours 9000, the queen event of the Transmaurienne Vanoise
Mountain bikers will compete on a course of over 220km with 9,000m of elevation gain, spread over 5 different stages over 5 days. Labeled UCI XCM (cross-country marathon) 2, offering points and prizes to the best male and female competitors, this event remains open to everyone, licensed or not, from 19 years old.

Parcours 6000 is the “little one” of the Competition Mode
Open to everyone from 15 years old and more accessible than the Parcours 9000, with approximately 180km and 6,700m of elevation gain to cover during the week, this formula allows riders of all levels to test themselves in Competition Mode. With a less demanding course, the landscapes are no less exhilarating. Whether from Bramans to Aussois, passing through the Forts Marie-Christine and Lac du Mont-Cenis, participants will be amazed by the natural beauty of the Haute Maurienne Vanoise landscapes.

EDF e-Race
This is the course that brings together electric mountain bike enthusiasts who want to compete against other e-bikers over varied distances and terrains. This course is, of course, open to everyone from 19 years old. Participants will follow the same routes as the Parcours 6000.

The Ultra Mode, an extraordinary mountain bike adventure

On the program for this extraordinary mountain bike adventure, a cross-border course between France and Italy to be completed in pairs and in less than 50 hours.

This adventure is for the participants to create. The basic course is 150km and 4,900m of elevation gain. It’s up to them to decide if they will cross the finish line as an Ultra Experience or if they will add the 3 loops to become an Ultra Finisher! This year, 260km and 9,500m of positive elevation await them!

A real challenge to push your limits!

The Randonnée Mode

Sporting Randonnée
Following the tracks of the Parcours 6000 but without the pressure of the stopwatch, the Sporting Randonnée is an ideal format. With a total of approximately 175km for 5,700m of elevation gain, this event allows you to take in the sights in complete relaxation. Over one or more days, participants can discover this course at their own pace, fully enjoying the surrounding landscapes. As a bonus, on certain days, riders can even use the ski lifts.

Family Randonnée
Adapted to please both young and old, the Family Randonnée offers courses of only about twenty kilometers each day. Always with the desire to satisfy all participants and make the event even more accessible, “shortcuts” are allowed and free ski lifts are made available by the resorts for mountain bikers.

EDF R-rando
Open to all e-bike owners, this event allows you to enjoy the magnificent Transmaurienne Vanoise courses “without effort.”

Transmau’ by night
This short night ride, inaugurated in 2021, will be an opportunity to discover the mountain bike experience and the territory of Haute Maurienne Vanoise by night. See you on Monday, July 18, starting from Val Cenis.

The Children’s Mode

Organized on Sunday, July 17 in Val Cenis, the Children’s Mode allows the youngest to discover and learn about the different mountain bike disciplines under the eyes and encouragement of their parents. Three formulas are offered for ages 3 to 14. This year, Downhill and Cross-country will be part of the Savoie Departmental Young Mountain Bikers Trophy!
