Major players in professional training, Vélogik and INCM are pooling their experiences to help structure the booming national bicycle repair sector and meet the challenge of recruiting qualified personnel.

Today, a specialized certification is recognized and offered in bicycle maintenance professions: the professional qualification title of Bicycle Mechanic. It does not cover all the needs of a rapidly evolving sector. The alliance between INCM and Vélogik will allow them to go further and support the emergence of new certifying courses, in line with market expectations. These will enable learners to develop their technical skills as well as managerial skills with courses such as ‘mechanic and expert advisor’, ‘workshop manager’ and ‘bicycle shop manager’.

Vélogik, which deploys its services in all areas of activity: maintenance of bicycle fleets for local authorities and businesses, mobile maintenance, repair and maintenance for individuals, will be able to offer practical training in its production facilities, thus allowing learners to consolidate their knowledge in real-world professional conditions.

“For Vélogik, the issue of training has been central since our creation in 2008. We even created our own Campus, which provides specialized training. Today, we are going further with this partnership. We share common values with INCM, and the pooling of our expertise will benefit all stakeholders in the sector and contribute greatly to its development,” says Franck Brédy, President of Vélogik.

For Nadine Annelot, President of INCM, “INCM has been developing its activities as a specialist in training for two-wheel vehicle professions, including cycling and electric mobility, for 30 years now. Innovation and proximity to the players in these sectors are the hallmarks of INCM. Vélogik’s expertise in bicycle fleet maintenance offers INCM a complementary vision and action plans through a partnership based on human values.” This new training offer is part of the global dynamic of cycling mobility. To meet the enthusiasm for this sustainable mode of transport, the bicycle maintenance sector must train for a wide variety of new professions (dispatcher, operator, trainer, mobile mechanic, etc.), thus laying the foundations for a new professional framework. The development prospects are very encouraging, and the opportunities for non-relocatable jobs are already very numerous. By 2050, 100,000 jobs could be created*.
