The Ultra Bike France, an ultra-cycling event created by two Toulouse residents, offers cycling enthusiasts a new experience with long-distance events that are shorter and more intense than classic formats of the genre, while retaining the best of this discipline. The Sicoval, a land of outdoor sports, is proud to kick off this event and wishes to commit itself long-term alongside the organizers so that its territory will now be one of the key stages of this atypical challenge. The town of Labège has been chosen as the host town and starting point for this race, which will take place for the first time on July 16 and 17.

“Hosting a sporting event of this magnitude will benefit the entire territory. The Ultra Bike public will discover a vast natural and architectural heritage and breathtaking views of contrasting landscapes, between the plains of Lauragais and rolling hills. There is so much to discover! The arrival of these visitors will generate benefits for the entire economic fabric and primarily for tourism stakeholders such as restaurateurs and hoteliers. As Mayor of Labège, the host town for this event, and Vice-President of Sicoval in charge of economic and tourist development, I only see advantages!” – Laurent Chérubin, Mayor of Labège and Vice-President in charge of economic and tourist development and animation for Sicoval.
“This event presents a dual interest for the commune: it will contribute to the animation of local life, particularly our village center, as activities are planned throughout the weekend, and it offers cyclists the opportunity to practice their passion in a unique format and to participate in a beautiful sporting and human adventure in a spirit of sharing and pleasure above all!” – Renaud Dardel, Deputy Delegate for Culture, Animation, and Sport Policy for the town of Labège
The Ultrabike, a unique self-supported experience
The creators and organizers of the UBF, Hubert Tissot and Jean-Marc Beriou, are both seasoned cyclists. They have concocted tailor-made circuits to offer participants the best of each department: the most beautiful roads, the most beautiful passes, and landscapes gathered on a single GPX track. The circuits, approximately 500 km in total self-sufficiency, are to be covered alone or in a team of two, with a relay at mid-distance (260 km / Bivouac in Aspet).
The challenge is to complete the course in less than 24 hours to aim for the “challenger” title, and in less than 34 hours to be a “finisher”. With this demanding event format, a mid-stage break called “the bivouac” appears. This space is designed to allow competitors to recharge, shower, eat, and rest before continuing the challenge. The UBF association, in line with an eco-responsible crossing of the department, has drafted an ethical charter signed by each participant. The event will give regulars of this type of discipline the opportunity to test themselves on a shorter format and will allow cyclists wishing to push their limits to try the ultradistance challenge.
“As organizers, we are committed to offering cyclists the opportunity to test themselves on a new event format with more autonomy and freedom. The UBF31 will provide them with a unique and therefore unforgettable human experience. For logistical and safety reasons for participants, the start and finish point of our event had to be south of the pink city. The town of Labège and, more broadly, Sicoval, exceeded our expectations by bringing together local economic, tourist, and associative stakeholders, already very committed to soft mobility issues, around our event. This makes sense to us!” – Hubert Tissot, Co-founder of the Ultra Bike France events
The first race will take place on July 16 and 17, in the Haute-Garonne department. A 480 km circuit, with 8,000 m of positive elevation gain and 3 mythical Tour de France passes!
