“For several years now, cyclists around the world have increasingly relied on our Varia radars to improve the visibility of approaching vehicles behind them. We are delighted to add the new RCT715 to the range of products dedicated to cyclist safety,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin Vice President of Global Sales. “When activated, it continuously records video of the ride. If an incident is detected, or if the cyclist manually activates it, the RCT715 records images before, during, and after the incident in a secure file.”
Varia RCT715 innovations:
Integrated camera: Captures sharp, clear photos and videos up to 1080p/30 fps (720p for longer battery life).
Automatic incident recording: If an incident is detected, video footage before, during, and after the event is automatically saved.
Additional features via the Varia mobile app: Easy access to recorded footage, video transfer, or camera settings customization.
The Varia RCT715 radar benefits from the best features dedicated to cyclist safety, including:
– Audible and visual alerts: Visual and audible notifications warn of approaching vehicles from behind, up to 140 meters away.
– Superior visibility: The tail light can be seen up to one kilometer away, allowing motorists to slow down and anticipate overtaking.
The Varia RCT715 radar is compatible with a selection of Edge® GPS bike computers, Garmin smartwatches, or a smartphone compatible with the Varia app. It is also compatible with apps such as RidewithGPS, to allow cyclists to combine their maps with radar notifications.

Battery life, price, and availability
The Varia RCT715 offers up to 4 hours of battery life when the radar and tail light are continuously on or flashing at night, and up to 6 hours when flashing during the day, while continuously recording at 1080p resolution. The Varia RCT715 radar is available now at a suggested retail price of €399.99.
