Lozère on gravel

Beyond its return, this 2022 edition marked the integration of gravel into La Lozérienne. Over 65 km and 1400 m D+, riders ventured onto gravel paths and forest roads. A versatile course, which allowed them to discover (or rediscover!) Lozère and its landscapes. While some enjoyed the ride at a leisurely pace, others raced against the clock: first place went to Laurent SABY (Roc) who finished the course in 2 hours 39 minutes and 55 seconds. Two locals followed behind: Julian GALIBERT (Roc de la legue) and Gaëtan MALIGES (Velo club marvejolais).

A successful return

After a 2-year absence, it was time to reunite. With nearly 500 riders spread across the 3 different courses, the organization was proud to see so many people present. All conditions were met to make this weekend wonderful: both in terms of participant motivation and the weather. Indeed, participants were able to enjoy the region to its fullest thanks to ideal weather over the 2 days.

In addition to gravel, La Lozérienne offered 3 different courses, adapted to all skill levels. The touring formula was available for those who wanted to enjoy the course without the stress of racing. The timed formula remained available on the longer courses for those aiming for sporting achievements. Jeremy BOUDIGNON, a rider from Béziers Méditerranée Cyclisme, notably distinguished himself by completing part of the Aubrac course (155 km and 2600m D+) with several minutes in advance. In Sainte Enimie, the gap between the leader and the group began to narrow, and he was eventually caught and overtaken on the Causse de Sauveterre. Béranger BROSSEL (Uspi Issoire) finished the Aubrac course in 4 hours 26 minutes and 49 seconds. The Gorges du Tarn course and its 105 km were completed by Julien CAYSSIALS (Guidon Decazevillois) in 2 hours 54 minutes 42 seconds.

This weekend, La Lozérienne Cyclo delivered on all its promises: perfect weather, sublime landscapes, and conviviality. With two such perfect days, participants and the organization are already thinking about next year’s edition, which will take place in 2023.
