From steep climbs to explosive attacks, the new Giant Surge Pro road shoe is designed for race days and training days, decisive attacks and long hours of pedaling. Tested and proven by WorldTour pros, including Simon Yates, it’s Giant’s lightest and most efficient road shoe ever.
This new generation of Surge Pro features an all-new dual-beam carbon outsole for greater efficiency, as well as a redesigned 360-degree wrap-around closure for a secure and comfortable feel. The result: a professional-level road shoe with phenomenal power transfer, a custom fit, and greater comfort by keeping feet cool for the most demanding days.
Yates and other riders from the BikeExchange-Jayco team began riding with prototypes of this new version of the Surge Pro during early-season training camps in January. “We were excited to start testing and using the new Surge Pro shoes at our first winter camps this year,” said Simon Yates. “Their lightness, efficiency, and comfort were obvious; I’ve been training and racing with them ever since.”

In March, Simon Yates won the final stage of Paris-Nice with the Surge Pro. This victory earned the Briton second place in the general classification, a result that gives him confidence as he prepares for the upcoming Giro d’Italia, his main objective this year.
“Seeing Simon perform at this level and achieve the results that athletes can get with this new shoe shows that all the time and effort we put into developing something truly unique is paying off,” said Jeff Schneider, product and marketing manager for Giant’s equipment division. “Every detail matters for riders at this level, and shoes are an essential part of the equation for professional riders like Simon.”
New ExoBeam and ExoWrap
One of the main evolutions of the new Surge Pro is the all-new ExoBeam outsole plate, which features a dual-beam design. It is made with an ultralight 100% carbon fiber construction to provide enhanced stiffness at the heel. This exclusive design significantly increases power transfer while allowing enough torsional flex for natural foot movement.

It also helps minimize muscle fatigue during pedaling without compromising efficiency. The new Surge Pro closure system is built on the redesigned ExoWrap, which cradles the foot in the shoe with its unique fit and micro-adjustable Boa Li2 dials with Dyneema textile laces. The Boa dials provide direct traction on the inner side of the ExoWrap closure for a secure and comfortable feel. While most cycling shoe closures press the foot towards the sole, ExoWrap surrounds the foot, creating a 360-degree wrap for a more personalized fit.

Comfort is further enhanced with a new polyurethane-coated mesh upper featuring laser-cut micro-perforations for maximum ventilation combined with long-term durability. The upper seams are welded rather than stitched, which helps minimize weight and gives the shoe a sleek profile and a supple feel.
Inside the upper is a removable sock liner with adjustable arch support and an antimicrobial TransTextura Plus layer that produces a cool and balanced foot climate in all conditions. The heel cup is ergonomically designed and features a grippy SharkSkin material for comfortable rearfoot support and to provide a secure, non-slip fit.

The new Surge Pro is available in 3 colors (from 41 to 47) and is on sale starting today on the Giant Bicycles website and through the dealer network at a retail price of €329.
A specific cut for the Liv Macha Pro
The Liv Macha Pro features the same functionalities as the Surge Pro, but with a cut adapted to the female foot shape.
Members of the WorldTour teams LivRacing-Xstra and Bike Exchange-Jayco will be equipped with them for training and competition. “The Macha Pro is an extraordinary shoe. It’s comfortable, light, and responsive, especially during long days of racing and training,” says Valérie Demey, a member of the Liv Racing Xstra team. “It’s efficient, stable, and offers excellent power transfer when I’m in a breakaway or pushing hard on the bike.”

The Macha Pro is available in 3 colors (from 36 to 43) and is on sale starting today on the Liv website and through the dealer network at a retail price of €329.
