Wanting to improve a helmet that has influenced the development of the entire industry through its technical and stylistic qualities is a big risk. Especially since it is one of the best-performing products in road cycling. KASK Protone is the helmet that has been worn by the best international teams and athletes. KASK Protone means five overall victories in the Tour de France, three in the Giro, two in the Vuelta, and four gold medals at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

In revisiting the Protone helmet, KASK designers wanted to retain all the characteristics that made it an icon of road cycling, intervening only on certain technical aspects, and modernizing its aesthetics to increase performance. The objective has been achieved, and KASK today announces the birth of the new Protone Icon WG11.

The evolution of this helmet does not only concern the aesthetic part. It is also an improvement of its structure, starting with the internal shell which has been redesigned to reinforce user safety. The result obtained allows for better ventilation and superior aerodynamics compared to the previous version.

In terms of construction of Protone Icon WG11, the brand uses seamless technology that unifies the lower and upper parts of the shell to obtain an aesthetically refined product.

The level of comfort and stability of the helmet have also been improved thanks to the evolution of the adjustment system, now called OCTOFIT+. It is more ergonomic, thanks to the new design and rubber inserts that stabilize the helmet, and more balanced with the new stabilizer that adheres to a larger surface of the nape of the neck. The new OctoFit+ system is easier to use thanks to a larger dial than the previous version and covered with a special rubber that facilitates grip. Result: cyclists with long hair can easily insert their ponytail.

Last but not least, the internal padding, removable and washable, is made of CoolMax®, a comfortable, quick-drying textile.

Like the entire KASK range, the new Protone Icon has also been developed in compliance with the KASK WG11 protocol, which is based on the scientific measurement of the helmet’s response to rotational impact.

Available in three sizes (Small, Medium, and Large) to cover a range of head circumferences from 50 to 62 centimeters, the Protone Icon WG11 helmet is offered in ten different colors and in glossy and matte versions.
