The 61st edition of the Tour of the Basque Country begins Monday, April 4, 2022 and runs until Saturday, April 9. From Bilbao to Arrate, the course includes six stages for a total distance of 897.9 km. On the challenging Spanish roads, the riders will tackle 20 climbs, including four Category 1, seven Category 2, and nine Category 3 climbs. Double winner in 2018 and 2021, Slovenian Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma), winner of Paris-Nice 2022, is one of the big favorites. The event also marks the return to competition for Frenchman David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ), who finished 5th overall in 2021 and won the last stage ahead of Roglič.
