The Ultra Gravel Tour des Alpes in Maurienne: the new 100% Gravel itinerary in the world’s largest cycling area

While cycling – and all its forms of practice – has been on the rise for several years now, the Gravel trend is attracting more and more cyclists. A hybrid bike, it allows you to ride on all types of terrain: asphalt, trails, dirt roads, rocky paths… Moving from roads to trails without difficulty, with a single bike, that’s the promise of the Gravel bike! An ideal discipline to combine sport and pleasure, which naturally finds its place in the largest cycling area in the world. Riding the trend, Maurienne is launching its brand new Gravel itinerary in 2022: The Ultra Gravel Tour des Alpes.

A 100% mountain itinerary

Designed for Gravel and adventure sports enthusiasts, the Ultra Gravel Tour des Alpes leads you to conquer some of the most beautiful Alpine passes through wild trails. On your route, big names like Madeleine, Galibier, Télégraphe, Mont-Cenis… you will encounter no less than 15 passes, 11 of which are over 2000 m in altitude. Thanks to Gravel, immerse yourself in a real 100% mountain experience, between mythical passes and unique panoramas.

MAGNIFICENT landscapes

Starting from Aiton, the itinerary navigates between Maurienne, Tarentaise, Italy and the Hautes Alpes, thus offering a great diversity of landscapes and atmospheres, always spectacular and wild. The sporting pleasure is then accompanied by the discovery of the natural and historical riches of the Northern Alps, some of which promise to leave you speechless.
