Mike Sinyard’s dream has always been to create Specialized Forever, which means ensuring that Specialized continues indefinitely, longer than any individual, including Mike himself. Scott will be responsible for managing the company. Specialized remains an independent, passionate company, with complete freedom to invest.

Scott joins the company after eighteen years at Dyson in various leadership positions: notably Senior Vice President, in charge of manufacturing and operations, then Chief Operating Officer, a position he held for the past two years. Scott holds a Master’s degree in Product Design Engineering from the University of Glasgow and the Glasgow School of Art. “Mike and I understood each other from our first meeting. We both come from hard-working families, which gave us both the conviction that with hard work, ingenuity, and a sense of collaboration, dreams come true,” said Scott. “I am extremely excited to lead this brand into the future. There has never been such a strong team in the cycling industry, and Specialized’s innovation capabilities, products, and distribution are unmatched. We have everything we need to deliver products, experiences, and services that matter to cyclists around the world and have a positive impact on global warming.”

“I have more energy than ever,” said Mike. “With Scott coming on board to lead the company, I can focus on missions that are close to my heart, directly related to the products, services, and experiences our customers dream of. Specialized is what it is today thanks to our employees, customers, and dealers,” Mike added. “Learning is part of who we are. It has always been in the brand’s DNA. I have been looking for years for the ideal leader for Specialized; Scott is perfect for this role because he masters product research and development, supply chain expertise, and operational excellence. Scott excels in his ability to leverage and bring together the strengths of people from different cultures, to create simplicity from complexity.”
