Michelin is launching its new range of premium road bike tires, MICHELIN POWER CUP. Aimed at demanding cyclists seeking the best performance on the road, this new range meets everyone’s expectations, from Grand Tour competitors to passionate but demanding amateurs who want to enjoy the best performance during their rides.

The new range comes in three versions: Tubular, which is part of the Racing Line offer, Tubetype (with inner tube), and Tubeless Ready (TLR), which correspond to the Competition Line offer.
As cycling experiences growing popularity, particularly because consumers are looking for more sustainable and responsible means of transport, Michelin is taking advantage of this product launch to announce that all packaging for its bicycle tires and inner tubes intended for points of sale is now fully recyclable and comes from responsible suppliers.

The MICHELIN POWER CUP Tubular model incorporates technologies such as Gum-X technology to optimize rolling efficiency, cornering grip, and tire longevity. High Density Shield technology, meanwhile, offers high levels of puncture resistance. The tire’s 2×160 TPI casing improves comfort at high operating pressures. Finally, combining the tire with a latex inner tube reduces weight while improving puncture protection, efficiency, and comfort.

The MICHELIN POWER CUP Tubetype model also incorporates Gum-X technology to optimize efficiency, cornering grip, and tire longevity. It also integrates Aramid Shield technology, which offers additional puncture protection, as well as a 3x 120 TPI casing that guarantees sidewall robustness. In addition, Gum-X technology allows for a sleek design with a smooth tread pattern.

The MICHELIN POWER CUP TLR uses Gum-X technology while including Tubeless Shield technology, which can be used with sealant to provide additional pinch flat protection and optimal comfort. A lightweight TLR-compatible casing, namely a 4x 120 TPI casing, guarantees robustness and reliability in many road conditions.

The new MICHELIN POWER CUP range is available in stores from March 2022 in the following sizes and colors:
- The MICHELIN POWER CUP Tubular tire replaces the MICHELIN POWER COMPETITION Tubular tire. It will be available in the following sizes: 28″-23mm (black), 28″-25mm (black and classic), and 28″-28mm (black and classic).
- The MICHELIN POWER CUP Tubetype tire replaces the MICHELIN POWER ROAD tire in the following sizes: 700x23C (black), 700x25C (black and classic), and 700x28C (black and classic).
- The MICHELIN POWER CUP TLR tire replaces the MICHELIN POWER ROAD TLR tire and will be available in the following sizes: 700x25C (black and classic), 700x28C (black and classic), and 700x30C (black).
In line with the Michelin Group’s All Sustainable strategy, all packaging for MICHELIN bicycle tires and inner tubes sold in stores is now fully recyclable. They are made from cardboard and paper from responsible suppliers and produced with sustainable materials, including vegetable-based inks and water-based adhesives.
