Oakley presents its new cycling collections

Oakley announces the launch of its brand-new “Be Who You Are” episode, which presents the 2022 cycling collection with the words of Mark Cavendish, Team Oakley cyclist. This chapter shows that cycling is much more than a sport: it is a catalyst for human strength, power, and freedom, empowering cyclists to explore an infinite number of trails and paths.

As part of its campaign, Oakley collaborates with the South African cycling group Fixie Fit and with BMX rider Wanga Moshani. These partnerships aim to explore not only their talents on the bike, but also the ways in which the group and Wanga support, value, and energize their communities when they are not in the saddle. They tell how cycling has become much more than a mode of transport, but truly a vehicle for expressing personality and for finding purpose, family, and community.

Fixie Fit is an urban cycling team from South Africa that includes local artists, directors, and fashion designers. Since its inception, Fixie Fit has evolved into a community of cyclists that promotes diversity and inclusion within the BMX world. Wanga Moshani is a South African BMX rider who started cycling at the age of 10. For over a decade, he has been part of Velokhaya, a cycling academy that allows young people from disadvantaged communities to try cycling, receive training, and be mentored, providing them with support and assistance both on and off the bike. As the reigning Elite category champion of the South African BMX Championship, Moshani wants to show others how cycling can change a life.

“At Oakley, from the very beginning, we have viewed the world of cycling as a catalyst for humanity. Whether it’s world-class athletes or small local mountain bike communities. From the streets of New York to fishing villages in Brazil. From a small child on their first bike to the legend of Mark Cavendish. Cycling is much more than a sport, it’s a catalyst for human possibilities,” said Caio Amato, Global Marketing Director at Oakley. “We want to inspire cyclists around the world to believe in themselves and to fully enjoy what they do.”

In parallel with the brand-new “Be Who You Are” episode, Oakley presents its 2022 cycling collection, encompassing helmets, sunglasses, sportswear, accessories, and protective equipment for various terrains, roads, or mountain biking.

The 2022 road cycling collection features aerodynamic, abrasion-resistant, breathable, hyper-stretch fabrics, as well as reflective protection for good visibility, so that all cyclists can enjoy a sublime experience in the saddle. The collection also includes the Kato, the revolutionary sunglasses that disrupted the eyewear industry when they arrived on the market in 2021. Equipped with Prizm Road lenses, they allow for the detection of the slightest changes in road texture and quickly spot hazards such as stones, pebbles, and potholes. The collection embodies Oakley’s road cycling heritage with premium products developed to meet the demands of cyclists of all levels.
