Orbea is expanding the Terra family with new aluminum models to make Gravel accessible to a wider community of cyclists. This aluminum frame shares the comfort and precision of its carbon counterparts thanks to its hydroformed tubes with carefully studied dimensions. It also integrates additional mounting points for a rear rack, ideal for adventures requiring more equipment.

A few months ago, Orbea launched its new Gravel offering: the Terra. A fast and comfortable bike on asphalt, efficient and agile on gravel paths, and ready for light bikepacking adventures.
All this without forgetting performance: while it’s not a competition bike, it doesn’t give up the pleasure of speed. Three aluminum models now complete the range, offering comfort and control thanks to the hydroforming process applied to their aluminum tubes and the careful sizing of these tubes.
Moreover, with their capacity to accommodate bags and a rear rack, the new aluminum models will be the ideal choice for cyclists looking for adventures.

Capable of performing on all types of terrain, the Terra platform is primarily focused on the simple pleasure of cycling. Its carbon and aluminum versions aim to meet the needs of three types of cyclists: the pure Gravelleur, the explorer, and the adventurer.
The “pure” Gravelleur will find in the Terra the best ally for covering long distances with speed, comfort, and efficiency, regardless of the surface. The explorer who likes to get lost on new tracks and country roads will also find an ideal companion. Finally, the adventurer will appreciate its options for long rides in “light bikepacking” mode.
While the carbon models are equipped with mounting points for fenders and three bottle cages, the aluminum versions also have specific mounting points for installing a rear rack. An ideal option for cyclists planning long adventures requiring more equipment.

Two frame materials, one fork material
The new aluminum Terra models are made from Orbea hydroformed aluminum. This process allows for very precise work on the shape and thickness of the tubes to increase their robustness and resistance to unwanted torsion. To save weight, several tubes are slimmed down in their middle, away from the stresses on the junctions and weld areas.
The carbon and aluminum Terra models share several specific solutions such as the OMR monocoque carbon fork. Like the all-carbon models, this fork offers the best synthesis of comfort, tire clearance, and torsional rigidity.

A more capable Terra
Orbea emphasizes that this bike is more capable because it covers a very wide range of use and adapts to different terrains thanks to the characteristics and options available across the Terra range.
This is reflected in the ability to mount 700c wheels with tires up to 45 mm if priority is given to speed and efficiency on rough roads. If reliability, traction, and comfort are preferred, 650B wheels with tires up to 50 mm can be installed, a solution particularly suitable for light bikepacking.
Unlike most Gravel bikes, the Terra’s specific frame, both in carbon and aluminum, accepts many drivetrain and tire options without compromising tire clearance. The asymmetrical chainstay design allows for choosing between a 1X and a 2X drivetrain, with a small chainring up to 34T.

Specific Gravel geometry
As with the carbon Terra frame, the aluminum version is available in six sizes, from XS to XXL.
The geometry is also almost identical. Both versions offer a geometry that emphasizes handling and comfort. Short chainstays for acceleration and speed, while a lowered bottom bracket ensures more stability and control on rough terrain. The Terra’s reach is designed to be combined with a short stem and, as with the carbon versions, the head angle is specific to each frame size.
