Building on its growing success in recent years, Gravel now has its own World Championship. Indeed, the Union Cycliste Internationale is launching the first edition of the Trek UCI Gravel World Series in 2022. This prestigious competition will bring together the best specialists in the discipline throughout the year in 15 stages across 15 different countries, all qualifying for the World Championships* in October 2022. In France, Wish One, already the organizer of multiple recognized Gravel events, was chosen by the UCI to organize the only French stage of the Trek UCI Gravel World Series in Millau on June 5, 2022.

Starting from the Parc de la Victoire in Millau, the course will take participants through the superb Causses landscapes, along a 130 km route alternating rustic roads, rolling paths, singletracks, undergrowth, and forest trails.

While the Grands Causses region is sure to charm riders with its diversity, the course is nonetheless difficult. Riders will have to climb 2500 m of positive elevation gain to reach the finish line located under the Millau Viaduct. Impeccable technique and solid physical condition will therefore be essential to hope to qualify for the World Championships.
