From March 9 to April 3, Zwift is doubling down on the Tour of Watopia: 2x more XP, new badges, doubled PowerUp duration, and a special kit to unlock… This is the promise of this essential annual event from Zwift, the global online fitness platform.

The appointment is set on Watopia, Zwift’s iconic virtual world. This is where the various events of the eponymous Tour will take place. From March 9 to April 3, participating Zwifters will see their XP multiplied by two, meaning they can level up in the game twice as fast.
On Zwift, leveling up allows you to unlock new sections on the maps (some, like Alpe du Zwift or Mont Vent-Top, are only accessible from a certain level), new parts, a new kit, or even the bike of your dreams. This is one of the most appreciated “video game” aspects of the platform, which motivates users to always go further, accumulate kilometers, collect badges, and take on challenges.
The Tour of Watopia consists of five stages with accessible routes and distances for all levels. New routes will be inaugurated during the Tour of Watopia. Formerly known as “Rebel Routes” and reachable via manual turns in the game, these routes, popular with the community, will be accessible to everyone for the duration of the Tour of Watopia, and then from the application menu. There are four new routes for cycling (Three Little Sisters, Triple Flat Loops, Downtown Titans, and Eastern Eight) and two for running (Italian Villas Sprint and Mayan Bridge Loop).
A new trail will also be introduced for the Tour of Watopia. Named “Handful of Gravel,” it will allow riders to discover the jungle in a new way. On Zwift, new routes mean new badges to unlock and even more XP!
Another major gamification element on Zwift: PowerUps (temporary bonuses available when passing through arches) will be effective twice as long during Tour of Watopia events.
And finally, at the end of the 5 stages, all Zwifters will unlock the Tour of Watopia 2022 kit. It consists of a jersey, bib shorts, and a pair of shoes in the colors of the Tour of Watopia to equip their in-game avatar.
