The 2022 Critérium du Dauphiné route unveiled

The 2022 Critérium du Dauphiné will take place from June 5 to 12 between La Voulte-sur-Rhône in Ardèche and the Plateau de Solaison in Haute-Savoie. On the program, the Col du Galibier and the Col de la Croix de Fer for this foretaste of the Tour de France.

The Critérium du Dauphiné will once again mark the beginning of the final stretch before the start of the Tour de France, scheduled less than three weeks later. And this year again, it promises to be a difficult event, with a 31.9 km individual time trial in the middle of the week, before a hellish final weekend. The seventh stage will see the riders climb the Col du Galibier from Saint-Chaffrey (2642 m) and the Col de la Croix de Fer (2067 m), exactly by the same sides as on the Tour a few weeks later, and before an arrival in the resort of Vaujany (1243 m). The next day, the survivors will tackle the Col de Plainpalais and the Col de la Colombières, both classified as first category, before another summit finish on the Plateau de Solaison at 1508 m altitude and at the end of an 11.3 km climb with an average gradient of 9.2%.
