Garmin today announced the launch of the Instinct 2 series, a range of smartwatches designed to meet the needs of the most demanding users. Robust and highly durable, the Instinct 2 series offers unlimited battery life on some models. It is available in different sizes and colors and integrates a complete suite of Garmin health and wellness features, such as VO2 Max and advanced sleep analysis and score.

Designed for everyday life

In addition to its new color options, the Instinct 2 series integrates dedicated activity profiles and comes in two different sizes: a traditional 45mm bezel and a new Instinct 2S with a smaller 40mm bezel, offering a more comfortable fit for people with smaller wrists. A new, easy-to-read, high-resolution display, protected by reinforced, scratch-resistant glass, provides confidence to tackle any challenge. In homage to the Instinct and Instinct Solar series, Instinct 2 is compliant with military standard 810 for heat and shock resistance. It is also water-rated to 100 meters.

The Instinct 2 series innovates with new colors such as Citron, Flame Red, and Tidal Blue, and is available in Solar, standard (non-solar), Surf, Tactical, and Camo versions.

Thanks to the Garmin Your Watch, Your Way program (available end of March), users can create custom versions of the Instinct 2 or 2S Solar with a wide choice of bezels and straps offering over 240 different combinations.

The Instinct 2 Series is compatible with the Garmin Connect IQ™ platform, which allows free downloads of apps, widgets, watch faces, data fields, and much more.
Menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracking are also available for Instinct 2 Series owners via Garmin Connect IQ.

Long-lasting battery

The Instinct 2 series offers significant battery life improvements. Instinct 2 provides up to four weeks of continuous use in smartwatch mode, and Instinct 2 Solar models offer unlimited battery life in connected mode, setting a new standard for Garmin battery life.

Stay healthy while staying connected

The Instinct 2 series now offers the full suite of Garmin wellness and health features, including advanced sleep analysis and score, Body Battery energy level, stress level, and heart rate tracking. For fitness enthusiasts, Instinct 2 now includes VO2 Max, fitness age, training status/load/effect, recovery time, HIIT workouts, and the suggested daily workout feature.

Instinct 2 series watches come preloaded with sports apps and activities to support every passion, including a new “Multisport” profile that allows switching between activities while displaying total activity time and distance covered. Family and friends can track the user’s activities on a dedicated web page sent via SMS. Loved ones can even be notified in case of emergency with the incident detection feature. When Instinct 2 is paired with Garmin Connect™ Mobile and an incident is detected, the app can send an alert message and the exact location of the incident to the various registered emergency contacts.

To help users streamline their daily activities, Instinct 2 Solar models now include Garmin Pay™, which allows payments to be made with the watch, without having to carry a wallet (via partner providers).

Tailored editions

For enthusiasts who want to take it to the next level, the Instinct 2 series offers three special editions with specific features:

Surf Editions: dedicated to water activities such as surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing, integrating a tide widget to stay informed about ocean conditions.
Users can keep track of their activities and review them later thanks to Surfline Sessions™ compatibility. Surf editions are available on Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S with or without solar glass.
Tactical Editions: reserved for military personnel, the Instinct 2 Solar Tactical Edition adds dedicated tactical features such as a kill switch that quickly erases all data from the watch, a stealth mode that records activity data without revealing location, a screen that works with night vision goggles, a dual GPS coordinate format, and a Jumpmaster activity mode for skydiving. Available in “coyote” or black colors.
Camo Editions: featuring Graphite and Camo Gray patterns to allow individuals to blend in or stand out depending on where they are, whether it’s the urban jungle or the real jungle.

Price and availability

The Instinct 2 and Instinct 2S are available now at a suggested retail price of €349.99.
