Discovering Nduranz Energy Products

Nduranz is still little known in sports nutrition in France, as it is an English/Slovenian brand. Our first test focused on their gels, and their effort and recovery drinks.

As explained on the Nduranz website, it is thanks to Dr. Podlogar, a Slovenian as his name suggests, that the entire range was developed to provide maximum energy during exercise with minimum digestive discomfort. After speaking with Dr. Podlogar, now a dietitian for the Bora-Hansgrohe team, it’s clear he is a cycling enthusiast and a perfectionist, which is what allows for high-quality products.

The Nduranz range is quite simple:

Effort gels: NRGY UNIT GEL

An effort drink: NRGY UNIT DRINK

Two recovery drinks: NRGY REGEN and REGEN LITE

Whey (milk protein)

The gels are Prototyp 1 with 40g of carbohydrates per gel. Their different flavors are really pleasant to consume, but this is truly personal. I was able to do long rides of over 7 hours, fueling exclusively with gels for this test, without experiencing any gastric problems or perceived drops in blood sugar.

I combined this test with the Prototyp 2 drink, my preference being the neutral one, with only maltodextrin, fructose, and electrolytes, following their recommendations: https://nduranz.com/pages/hydration-guide

Indeed, on their website, you can find a nutritional strategy based on the effort required, which can be useful for those who don’t have many reference points. It’s important to try it out during training to get your body used to it before implementing what works best during competitions.

There’s also a page for “training the gut” which can also be useful for those who suffer from reflux or bloating during exercise.

These small guides are really well done, which deserves to be highlighted. They are in English, but Google Translate works very well for those who don’t understand Shakespeare’s language.

I also used the recovery drink a few times, but I’m not a fan of it. It can be useful when you can’t have a proper post-training or post-competition meal, or when you can’t eat after intense effort. For this, the REGEN range is also very good tasting. As for the results, it’s really impossible to say, there are too many parameters that can influence it. In terms of prices, these are really advantageous products given the quality.

The Prototyp 1, which I believe are more than sufficient, are currently €1.50 per gel. The new ones are €2.50 and were not yet available during the tests. For the drink, it’s €30 for 1.35 kg, enough to make about thirty bottles, or €1 per bottle. With Nduranz, you get your money’s worth.

To conclude, if we had to summarize, Nduranz offers a high level of performance (or efficiency relative to your potential), as much as more well-known brands, for a minimal cost. In any case, I enjoyed them just as much. Their website also allows those who don’t have the basics of sports nutrition to learn.
