The team will ride with Giant bikes and equipment until 2024, focusing on Grand Tours, one-day classics, and other major road races around the world. The partnership with Giant marks a significant step for Team BikeExchange-Jayco as it begins its 11th season in the WorldTour pro peloton. With a mix of young talents and experienced riders, including 2018 Vuelta winner Simon Yates and Tour de France green jersey winner Michael Matthews, the team has a diverse roster of sprinters, climbers, time trialists, and general classification contenders.

“The Giant brand has been at the forefront of professional road racing for over two decades, and we are thrilled to make our return to the UCI WorldTour with Team BikeExchange-Jayco,” said Phoebe Liu, Chief Branding Officer of Giant Group. “Working with the best professional riders and their support staff helps us stay at the forefront of innovation and continue our goal of providing cyclists around the world with the best possible cycling experience.”

The Team BikeExchange-Jayco men’s team in 2022 includes 29 riders representing 12 nations. In addition to Yates and Matthews, the team also welcomes Dutch sprinter Dylan Groenewegen, with 58 career victories.

Other new recruits this year include American time trial champion Lawson Craddock and Italian time trial champion Matteo Sobrero, as well as track specialists Kelland O’Brien (Australia) and Campbell Stewart (New Zealand), and young talents Alex Balmer (Switzerland), Jesús David Peña (Colombia), and Jan Maas (Netherlands).

“We are very pleased to welcome Giant Bicycles as a technical partner for the men’s team,” said Brent Copeland, General Manager of Team BikeExchange-Jayco. “Working with brands that spare no effort is very important to us. Already, the support they have provided to the team and the number of resources they have given us has been incredible and it creates a lot of excitement. Our partnership started with strong common goals, and we will do whatever it takes to achieve those goals together. We start the 2022 season with confidence and motivation, and we look forward to this great journey.”

Riders will have access to the Giant bike range and will be able to adapt their bike choice according to race formats, conditions, and terrain. All bikes will be equipped with CADEX Cycling components and Shimano drivetrains. Riders will also use Giant helmets, including the Rev Pro MIPS and the Pursuit TT. The team will collaborate with the Giant brand to develop and test new cutting-edge products that will be introduced later this year.

The 2022 bikes

TCR Advanced SL Disc: The “Total Race Bike” has been pushing the boundaries of road performance for over two decades. With hundreds of professional victories over the years, the Giant TCR Advanced SL is the number one choice for stage race specialists, climbers, and all-rounders, including Simon Yates, who won the 2018 Vuelta, finished on the podium of the 2021 Giro d’Italia, and won several stages of the Tour de France. Designed for unparalleled efficiency, the TCR is the ideal bike for demanding mountain stages, hilly classics, and long training days on challenging terrain.

Propel Advanced SL Disc: This aerodynamic road machine has won Tour de France stages, Monuments, one-day races, and sprint finishes all over the world. Expect to see the team’s designated sprinters, including Tour de France green jersey winner Michael Matthews, Giro d’Italia stage winner Luka Mezgec, and Dylan Groenewegen, who has several Tour de France stage victories to his name, on the Propel Advanced SL Disc when the sprints are launched.

Trinity Advanced Pro: Designed to meet the demands of world time trial champions, this rocket is engineered using extensive CFD analysis and wind tunnel testing to deliver optimal aerodynamic performance in racing. Its AeroSystem tube shape helps riders like Lawson Craddock and Matteo Sobrero, both time trial champions in their home countries, gain seconds when it matters most.

Team BikeExchange-Jayco will also include a women’s team, sponsored by Giant’s sister brand, Liv Cycling.
