Q36.5 and the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF): A Cycling Jersey to Save the African Leopard

Together We Ride, Together We Care is the name of the project launched by Q36.5 in collaboration with the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF).

Q36.5 was founded in the heart of the Dolomites, far from the leopard’s natural habitat. However, they share a common characteristic: the ability to climb. The leopard is known and admired for its climbing abilities. In the Dolomites, cyclists challenge themselves on some of the most demanding passes.

Q36.5 has partnered with the African Wildlife Foundation to protect the leopard, an endangered species. The Italian company has designed a limited-edition cycling jersey dedicated to the leopard. For each purchase, Q36.5 will donate €50 to the AWF.

Inspired by the leopard

The jersey’s design was inspired by the leopard’s natural habitat. These big cats tend to prefer rocky landscapes with dense brush and riparian forests.

From a technical perspective, the fabric of this jersey is made of 70% recycled polyester fibers. In fact, all Q36.5 products are manufactured within a 350 km radius of their headquarters in South Tyrol. The company used body mapping technology to design the jersey’s structure. Hence the decision to combine different fabrics in the garment, strategically positioned according to their characteristics, to achieve great lightness, maximum breathability, and good aerodynamics.

These AWF jerseys are now available at selected bike shops and online on the Q36.5 website at a price of €129.

AWF men’s jersey

The combination of different strategically placed fabrics makes this jersey very light (110 g) and highly breathable. The sleeves are made of a slightly ribbed fabric, while the front panel is a micro-perforated fabric and the back is made of honeycomb mesh fabric.

AWF women’s jersey

The most relevant features of this jersey are: ultra-fast drying time, optimal moisture management, ergonomic fit, exclusive invisible pocket system, high UV protection (+50 SPF), reflective zippers.
