It’s a new record for Zwift: more than 150,000 cyclists participated in the 2021 Zwift Academy Road. For most of them, this event was an opportunity to improve. For a handful of participants, the most experienced, the Zwift Academy Road was a unique opportunity to secure a contract with a professional team.

Among these thousands of candidates, 10 stood out, demonstrating the full extent of their cycling skills during 8 weeks of training, races, and group rides on Zwift. They will now face a final challenge, for one week, both during and after their cycling sessions: the Zwift Academy Road final, which will launch the careers of two of them.

For the first time in the history of the Zwift Academy Road, the men’s and women’s finals will take place at the same location and at the same time. Some of the events will bring all finalists together, while others will be raced with their future professional team. The riders and staff of the CANYON//SRAM Racing and Alpecin-Fenix teams will be present at the camp in Mallorca.

The Zwift Academy coaches from Dig Deep Coaching as well as the professional team coaches will analyze all the finalists’ performances, whether it’s their outdoor efforts on Mallorca’s famous climbs, their tenacity during Zwift races, or off-bike challenges.

GCN will broadcast the finals through five 20-minute videos capturing the highlights of the week. The two winners, one man and one woman, will be announced on December 17 in the final episode.
