On the occasion of the Femix’Sports Trophies, a round table was organized on the place and visibility of women in sport. In the “Collective Prize” category, the French Cycling Tourism Federation won 3rd prize, demonstrating its dedication and involvement in promoting women’s cycling. It is the only non-competitive Federation to have received an award.

The president, Martine Cano, is very honored to receive this trophy but remains aware of the progress needed to encourage female participation in the world of sport.
“ It is a great recognition for the Federation to be nominated and rewarded for its strategy in terms of feminization. Discussions with other federations show that actions need to be put in place and that there is still a long way to go to achieve parity in governing bodies.”
Actions specifically dedicated to women within the French Cycling Tourism Federation are not new. 20 years ago, the Pyrénées league was already launching women’s weekends in the form of self-supported bike tours.
In 2012, the largest women’s gathering was born with “Toutes à vélo – Paris” (All on Bikes – Paris). This event generated real enthusiasm within the regions and allowed participants to meet and share their passion for cycle tourism. Three editions have followed since, with Toulouse in 2021, where more than 3000 women converged on touring trips from all over France.
These actions have encouraged greater involvement of women in the volunteer management of clubs and departmental and regional structures of the Federation. They regularly organize women’s events, beyond the touring trips prepared as part of Toutes à vélo. This evolution is important to more strongly embed the welcome of women in clubs.
With now more than 20% women in its ranks, the Federation continues its development.
