The Orbea Orca bike family gets new colors and components for the 2022 model year, featuring new RAW carbon stock colors and models equipped with the new Shimano Dura-Ace and Ultegra groupsets.

The Orbea Orca bike range extends from €2099 to €9999 and is built around two carbon frames, the OMX (833 g) and the OMR (1030 g). The bikes are available in seven sizes (from 47 to 60), and now with new colors, in addition to the million possible combinations via MyO customization.
The down tube, seat tube, and seatpost sections of the Orca OMX are ovalized and subtly flattened for a 10% drag reduction compared to the previous version. The OMX frame exclusively combines high-modulus and high-strength fibers. Carbon sheets are laser-cut to reduce excess material and overlaps, then hours of pre-molding ensure optimal compaction with a minimal amount of carbon. A full EPS (expanded polystyrene) mold and latex inserts are used to eliminate wrinkles and imperfections.
The Orca OMR frame, on the other hand, features rounded shapes that improve comfort and reduce weight, making it an ideal frame for cyclists looking for smooth and efficient handling. The round 27.2 mm seatpost is significantly more comfortable than 30.9 or 31.6 mm diameter ones, which improves the saddle position without sacrificing frame stiffness at the bottom bracket. The OMR frame benefits from high-modulus and high-strength fibers in standard configurations to optimize stiffness-to-weight ratios. Molding components with EPS foams and PU inserts for the head tube and bottom bracket shell eliminates wrinkles and edges in critical areas, allowing less carbon to be used without compromising durability.
