In a press release sent to France Info, the Trek-Segafredo team announced that it has decided to standardize the bonuses paid to members of its women’s and men’s teams. This decision follows the highlighting of the enormous differences in treatment between the two winners of the Paris-Roubaix editions, Elizabeth Deignan for women, and Sonny Colbrelli for men, in terms of prize money. Trek-Segafredo assures that it will now act in the same way for all races on the calendar.

At Paris-Roubaix 2021, the bonuses paid by the organizer Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) to the female and male competitors were very different. The men shared €91,000, including €30,000 for the winner Sonny Colbrelli, while the women had to settle for only €7,005 (including €1,535 for the winner Elizabeth Deignan).
A podium to remember.

The Trek-Segafredo team has decided to react and put the riders of its two teams on the same footing. The team will therefore pay a bonus of €30,000 to Deignan, but also €15,000 instead of €760 to Elisa Longo Borghini, third in Roubaix, and €1,300 instead of €265 to Audrey Cordon-Ragot, eighth.
