Presentation of the Megève Mont Blanc Cycling, September 11 and 12, 2021

The former Time Megève Mont-Blanc changes its name after the withdrawal of the equipment manufacturer, and becomes the Megève Mont-Blanc Cycling, also changing its date for the occasion. The event takes place this weekend, September 11 and 12, with several formats on the program.

The proposed routes and program are just as enticing, with quite a few new features.

Saturday:

– Gravel with a 75 km event: https://megevembc.com/event/gravel-laventuriere/
– E-bike with a 60 km event https://megevembc.com/event/vae-rando-e-mont-blanc/
– The Kid with events for young people aged 5 to 14 https://megevembc.com/event/kids-la-grande/

Sunday:

Three routes: 65 km (2000 m of climbing), 100 km and 2800 m of elevation gain, and 165 km and almost 5000 m announced.

All three routes will start at 8 am from the Megève sports palace. The possibility of combining with the Gravel the day before is also on the program.

The long route is really challenging with the main difficulties being: the Col de L’Arpettaz, the Col du Pré and Les Saisies, but other small obstacles will make things even harder… The main difficulties:

– The Col de l’Arpettaz: 11.7 km at 8.5%
– The Montée de Crest Voland: 6 km at 7.5%
– The Col du Pré from Beaufort: 12.2 km at 7.8% with the last 6 between 9 and 11%
– Montée des Villes du Dessus: 3 km at 6%
– The Col des Saisies via Hauteluce: 8 km at 7%

Plan for small gears for the 168 km and 5000 m of elevation gain; it’s almost the equivalent of a Marmotte.
