A DREAM SETTING

A preserved natural setting, the Bauges Massif is the privileged playground of the AlpinBike Lac d’Annecy. With its many renowned passes and roads winding through forests and alpine pastures, the Bauges Regional Natural Park is a true invitation to travel. Col de Leschaux, du Semnoz or du Revard, passing by the Pont de l’Abime, the thousand participants expected won’t have the leisure to stop for sightseeing.

ATTACKING THE BAUGES!

On Saturday, the organization offers participants the chance to warm up on a legendary pass, the Semnoz. With a dry climb of 24 km and 1,200 m of elevation gain, the Montée du Semnoz will give some indication of the participants’ fitness levels. This mythical climb, as tough as it is beautiful, will provide riders with a breathtaking panorama at the summit, with a 360° view of Lake Annecy, the Bauges Massif, the Alps, and Mont Blanc. On Sunday, participants will have a choice of three courses. The Tour du Châtelard (55 km / 1150 m D+) will take participants on a short tour of the valley to the village of Châtelard. After climbing the Montée de la Magne and the Col de Leschaux, they will reach this typical Bauges village before being carried to the finish at Lake Annecy. The Parcours des Bauges (115 km / 2400 m D+) offers a beautiful loop towards Revard with an unprecedented passage through the cross-country ski trails of La Féclaz! The return to Saint-Jorioz via the Col de Leschaux is without great difficulty! A beefed-up version of the Parcours des Bauges, the Parcours du Semnoz (140 km / 3150 m D+) will also take participants into the heart of the Bauges Massif. But before accessing it, they will have to tackle the mythical Col du Semnoz. The reward: approximately 30 km of non-stop ascent from the start in Saint-Jorioz! Before returning via the Col de Leschaux, they will also have to climb to Revard and fly over the white paths of the La Féclaz Nordic Domain! In timed mode to soak up the competitive spirit, or in touring mode to enjoy the course and appreciate the scenery, all cyclists are welcome at the AlpinBike Lac d’Annecy!

THE GRAVEL COURSE, THE BIG NEW FEATURE!

With a playground as vast as the Bauges Massif, it was only natural to highlight its other, even more natural and unusual side! The introduction of a Gravel course for this 2021 edition opens the event to a new audience and allows them to discover the Bauges Massif in a different way. By integrating the Gravel’Tour Cannondale, the event establishes itself in this booming discipline, allowing participants to go off the beaten track. With 70 km to complete and 1,900 m of elevation gain to conquer, they will ride on a course composed of 85% trails and 15% roads. To navigate, participants will only be able to rely on themselves and the GPX track provided by the organization, another reason to take the time to appreciate the route and the surrounding landscapes.
