For the candidate brands, the challenge was to present a production road bike designed for competition, offered at a maximum price of €6000. Giant chose the TCR Advanced Pro 0 Disc, which offers several advantages for performance-oriented sport riders at a price of €5300.

Among its major assets:
• The new TCR ADVANCED PRO frame, completely redesigned for a design combining liveliness,
integration, and aerodynamics.
• The new Giant SLR1 wheels with their hookless rims and CADEX
ROAD RACE Tubeless tires to offer lively and predictable handling.
• The new Giant Contact series components (handlebar and stem).
• A Shimano Di2 electronic drivetrain for smooth gear changes.
Readers’ vote: the TCR first choice
Last spring, readers of Le Cycle magazine selected their three favorite models from the
19 candidate bikes. The Giant TCR Advanced Pro 0 Disc came out on top in this first
selection.
Following this vote, the editorial team of Le Cycle magazine selected two other models to present
five bikes in the final.
The five finalists:
• Giant TCR Advanced Pro 0 Disc
• Scott Addict RC 15
• Specialized Atheos Expert
• Look 795 Blade RS
• Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 8 Disc Di2 => Although qualified for the final, the brand did not participate due to the unavailability of the model, among other reasons.
The final: The TCR elected Road Bike of the Year
In June, a jury composed of readers and journalists gathered in Samoëns (Haute-Savoie) to decide between the
candidates in the final. The goal was to put the bikes to the test on the road and rank them
taking into account aesthetics, handling, and finally, equipment.
Aesthetics: “racy look and sloping top tube” (Quote Le Cycle)
The new frame, which gains in aerodynamics, seduced the Jury members. (…)
Handling:
The testers had to rate the bikes on four criteria defined by the rules: responsiveness,
stiffness, steering, and comfort. In this game, while the TCR Advanced Pro 0 Disc did not win on all criteria, it emerged as the overall winner in terms of overall handling. (…)
Equipment:
In this category, the focus was on accessories on the one hand, and value for money on the other. In terms of accessories, the presence of a power meter and Cadex Road Race 25 tubeless tires allowed the Giant to stand out. Regarding value for money, “the Giant largely pulled ahead thanks to the presence of a power meter, carbon wheels, and tubeless tires, all for the lowest price of the four finalists.” (Quote Le Cycle)
Based on the average of these 4 criteria, the Giant TCR Advanced Pro 0 Disc emerged as the winner of this
election.
