The editorial team of 3bikes.fr has decided to join the MPCC (Mouvement Pour un Cyclisme Crédible – Movement for Credible Cycling) as a supporting member. Created in 2007, the association now has 914 members, including 10 World Tour teams.
The MPCC defends a certain idea of cycling, and at 3bikes, it’s also ours. This is why we have decided to join the movement, support it, and commit to following its rules.

The MPCC fights for the credibility of cycling
The Movement for Credible Cycling (MPCC) is an association whose goal is to defend the objective of clean cycling, based notably on the notions of transparency, responsibility, and mobilization of its members. The MPCC is also an alert-raiser regarding the use of certain medicinal substances that are not prohibited but are diverted from their intended use, and regarding technological fraud.
The MPCC was launched in 2007 by seven professional teams: AG2R Prévoyance, Agritubel, Bouygues Telecom, Cofidis, Crédit Agricole, Française des jeux, and Gerolsteiner. The initial objective of the MPCC’s launch was to protest against the non-application of decisions concerning the AIGCP (International Association of Professional Cycling Groups) ethical charter, which had nevertheless been adopted unanimously.
The association has been chaired since its creation by Roger Legeay, who was then manager of the Crédit Agricole team. Since 2007, teams can join the movement. Since 2018, riders, staff, or organizers can also become members.
There is no obligation to register with the MPCC, and commitment is on a voluntary basis. The member then adheres to a set of fundamental MPCC rules and is free to leave the movement whenever they wish. The board of directors can also exclude a member for non-compliance with the rules.
A new member remains a member until the day they decide to leave. If a new member decides to join the association, it is because their ideas and philosophy of cycling correspond to those of the MPCC. Many event organizers adhere to the MPCC philosophy, such as the Société du Tour de France, which invites only member teams of the movement to its World Tour events (World Tour teams being automatically registered).
In accordance with their commitment to the MPCC, member teams submit their riders to voluntary tests before certain events, in addition to the classic controls conducted by the UCI or local agencies, notably cortisol level controls.

Fundamental rules for teams
- Immediately withdraw a rider from an event upon receiving the first communication of a positive test
- Do not sign riders involved in doping cases who have been sanctioned for more than six months (excluding no-shows) within two years of the suspension
- Riders may be prosecuted in court to obtain damages for harm to the team’s image
- Local corticosteroid infiltrations must be validated by the team’s responsible doctor, who will mandatorily prescribe a minimum of eight days of work and competition stoppage
- Eight days of rest, subject to a normal blood test, will be prescribed for a case of collapsed cortisol levels
- Teams must inform the MPCC as soon as they become aware of a positive A sample test
- An introspection of the team must be implemented if it faces several positive cases or incapacities
- The member must explain themselves at the next MPCC meeting in case of a positive test, abnormal blood test, or various problems
- Any manager involved in a doping case (proven facts) is summoned before the MPCC board of directors
- Technological fraud is considered by member teams as a positive test, leading to the same consequences
