The Franck Pineau promotes “CYCLING FOR EVERYONE” with routes through the beautiful landscapes of the Yonne region, adapted to everyone’s experience: cycling for families, for more or less experienced athletes, for mountain bike enthusiasts, etc. Not to mention hikers! The Franck Pineau aims to be above all a great cycling celebration! The organization, led by young president Eddy Bevre, now invites you to join them on Sunday, September 5, 2021.

History

1994 – Franck Pineau, professional cyclist, retires from competitive cycling.

1997 – Serge Le DOUSSAL and Jean JAROUSSE create the Franck PINEAU. The first edition of this ride brings together 200 cyclosportifs in Brienon-sur-Armançon in the Yonne region. The organization then grows and moves to Migennes with a start at the Leclerc center. Following its popular success, the Franck Pineau takes place at AUXERREXPO. For 22 years, approximately 22,000 athletes have participated in this cycling event. Participants come from all over the Yonne, as well as from 80 French departments and French-speaking Europe. The Franck Pineau expands by also offering mountain bike routes and, since 2018, 3 walking routes. This event brings together about a hundred volunteers on the day.

2020 – A turning point emerges with the resignation of Serge Le DOUSSAL. He is replaced by the new president Eddy BEVRE. The new objectives of the new management team are to try to continue the excellent work of the previous team, while revitalizing this day with new ideas.

2021 – New location: “Stade Abbé Deschamps, entertainment with a welcome village (local products, partners, activities), highlighting the roads, local products and heritage, implementation of ecological actions, communication development (by creating a Facebook page and modernizing the website, press…), actions to attract more young people and families to participate in the Franck Pineau, forgetting the cancellation and the health crisis we experienced in 2020. Prices are reduced to €5 for participants, and participation is free for young people up to 16 years old. Each person will leave with prizes. Goal for 2021: gather 1000 participants for the 23rd edition.
