The Continental GP 5000 tire is back with beige sidewalls

First released as a limited-edition “Tour de France” model in July 2020, the Continental GP 5000 tire is once again available with beige sidewalls. This is sure to delight riders looking to add a pop of color to their bikes.

There are now not just one, but three color options available for the Continental GP 5000 tire, a model highly regarded for its excellent balance of performance, grip, and durability. In addition to the traditional black-sidewall model, Continental had already quietly unveiled a version called “Transparent” a few weeks ago, featuring brown sidewalls—which were actually tires without any color treatment on the sides.

The “Cream” (beige) version is now making its return to the roads, with a light color that really brightens up a dark bike—and is also quite easy to clean. In fact, this involves a strip of rubber added to the sidewall, which actually adds weight to the Continental GP 5000 and makes it slightly less flexible, both during installation and use.

For us, it’s not quite the same tire, even though—like many users—we appreciate its versatility, overall performance, and grip regardless of weather conditions.

The Continental GP 5000 tube-type tire is available in the following sizes:
