For Lapierre, winning the most prestigious races on the WorldTour circuit has always been the goal since the beginning of their competition with the Groupama-FDJ cycling team. For 20 years, Lapierre’s ambition has been to meet the team’s needs and provide all riders with the best bikes in the peloton. This joint collaboration between Lapierre’s research and development department and the Groupama-FDJ cycling team’s performance department has once again led to the launch of the latest high-performance bike, the new Xelius SL.

An iconic model in the Lapierre road range since the launch of the first Xelius in 2010, and after numerous successes in major events since its last evolution in 2018 (stages of the Tour de France, Giro, Vuelta, Tour of Lombardy, and the French championships), the time has come for Lapierre to present the third evolution of the Xelius SL, in the new Team Groupama-FDJ 2022 colors.
This new version of the Xelius SL will feature a new ultra-light carbon bar/stem combo at the Tour de France, and will accompany the best climbers and rouleurs/punchers of the Groupama-FDJ cycling team on the upcoming mountain passes of the Tour de France and on all stages where lightness, versatility, speed uphill and downhill, and responsiveness are paramount.
A more refined design with tauter lines and full integration of cables and hoses to reduce the frame’s aerodynamic impact and gain speed on descents, along with a more aggressive geometry, will allow the new Xelius SL to perform at the highest global level.
