Gboost turns your analog bike into an e-bike

Since May 2020, the sudden change in transport modes has accelerated the rise of cycling in France. Brands and distributors have had to face massive demand, leading to a shortage of bikes. The young French company, Gboost, offers an alternative to remedy this problem. With its powerful, compact, silent, and ultra-light electric kit, it offers a second life to your muscle-powered bike. A silent, lightweight, and easy-to-install kit

The kit installs like an accessory, without modifying the bike. It does not put any strain on the frame and therefore maintains the bike’s homologation. A single nut secures the motor unit to the frame, while the battery takes the place of the bottle cage. All that remains is to correctly position the cabling and controls on the handlebars. This kit is the easiest to install, as simple as assembling furniture… No special tools are needed.

The motor unit weighs only 950 grams and attaches under the bottom bracket shell. It can be completely disengaged to continue using your Gboost bike without assistance, like a normal bike, thus eliminating the fear of running out of battery. It is also possible to keep it engaged to recharge the battery when the cyclist is going downhill.

A smartphone application to configure speed and power

Thanks to Bluetooth technology, the cyclist can connect the Gboost controller to their smartphone (iPhone and Android). They can then adjust, via sliders, the speed and power limits for each of the 5 assistance modes. Other features are available, such as anti-theft mode and children’s mode.

Gboost 2021 kit, a new, more complete version for greater comfort and reliability

Gboost unveils its 2021 version of the complete kit. 3 models are available:

– Gold Gboost V8 2021 and Smart battery: the best performance-price-weight ratio and ultra-light. The combination of the high-efficiency, ultra-silent motor with the 251 Wh battery. (speed of 25 km/h – range 40km). Price: 899€
– Gold Gboost V8 2021 and long-distance battery: speed and power comply with EU standards (speed of 25 km/h, 365 watt-hour battery and continuous power of 250 watts / peak power of 500 watts – range: 60km). Price: 1049€
– Gold Gboost V8 2021 and extra-long-distance battery: speed and power comply with EU standards (speed of 25km/h, 441 watt-hour battery and continuous power of 250 watts / peak power of 500 watts – range 75km). Price: 1179€

A derestriction option to 35km/h (800W) is possible via the smartphone application for 250 euros. For use on public roads, this will require registering your two-wheeler.
