As the Giro d’Italia 2021 enters its final weekend, Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) approaches it wearing the cyclamen jersey of the points classification, 22 points ahead of Davide Cimolai (Israel Start-Up Nation). For the occasion, Specialized has prepared a special bike for him, celebrating both the color of the jersey and the race. Peter Sagan can add a new jersey to his collection of seven Tour de France green jerseys, in an event he has completed entirely on tubed tires for the first time.

Specialized believes that Peter Sagan’s cyclamen jersey could be the first of its kind won primarily with tubed tires, less than two months after this technology’s first victory at the Tour of Flanders with Kasper Asgreen (Deceuninck-Quick Step).
The Slovakian used Roval Rapide CLX wheels on virtually all stages, except for the Strade Bianche stage, where he used CLX 50s with Turbo RapidAir 28 tubeless tires (Rapide CLX wheels are not tubeless compatible). On the other stages, and notably during his victory in Foligno (Stage 10), the former world champion rode with 26 mm Turbo Cotton tires.
