New Canyon Speedmax CFR TT Disc for Time Trials

In the battle against the clock at the highest level, the slightest thousandth of a second or the smallest detail can lead to glory or failure. Aerodynamic efficiency and the weight-to-stiffness ratio make the difference between a world-class time trial bike and a simply exceptional one. The all-new Speedmax CFR TT Disc represents the latest generation of the most innovative and fastest time trial bikes. With a top-tier CFR construction, Canyon has created this UCI-approved version of the Speedmax Disc with one goal: to smash the stopwatch.

CFR stands for the best of the best, in terms of both performance and design. Based on cutting-edge materials and years of information exchanged between the world’s top engineers and athletes, the Speedmax CFR TT Disc sets a new benchmark: a machine with no competition.

This bike is equipped with top-tier components at every level. Canyon has chosen high-end Zipp carbon wheels, including a Super 9 Disc at the rear and an 808 Firecrest at the front. The bike is fitted with the SRAM Red eTap AXS groupset, featuring Vuka Shift extensions and an integrated GPS mount. Finally, Canyon has completed the build with a range of quality details including Ergon armrests, a Selle Italia Watt saddle, and Ceramic Speed bearings.

But the highlight of the Speedmax CFR TT Disc is its frame, which is the result of intensive development by Canyon engineers. The light weight of the frame (1030 g* in size M) and fork (500 g*) offers an incredible stiffness-to-weight ratio. Furthermore, aerodynamic optimization saves 2.7 watts compared to the previous model, despite its transition to disc brakes.

The new armrests are adjustable with spacers but are now mounted closer together as standard to meet current demands for time trial adjustments. In addition, two differences should be noted compared to the triathlon version of the Speedmax. Firstly, the Speedmax TT does not feature the storage space so essential for top-level triathletes like Jan Frodeno and Patrick Lange during grueling races. Secondly, the frame stands out with new tube shapes that comply with UCI rules. In short, this bike is designed for one purpose: to offer all the qualities required to win a time trial. Nothing more, and above all, nothing less.

The new 2021 Speedmax CFR TT Disc is available in three sizes (S-M-L) from May 5th at a price of 9,999 € exclusively on canyon.com.
