If the course is not revised by the organizers, the start will be moved forward by 2 hours compared to the initially scheduled time, due to weather conditions (a more favorable window earlier in the day). The finish is thus expected around 3 p.m., at an altitude of 2100 m in Thyon 2000. It is on the slopes of the Swiss resort that the general classification should be decided, between Marc Soler (Movistar), who took the lead of the race after the 3rd stage, and the two Ineos riders Geraint Thomas and Richie Porte. The course covers 161 km with 4150 m of elevation gain. Live television broadcast from 2 p.m. on the L’Equipe channel.

The difficulties of the stage:

Chamoson (km 6.3): 2 km at 7.3% (max: 9.3%)
Anzère (km 44.9): 14.5 km at 7% (max: 11%)
Lens (km 58): 3.5 km at 6.5% (max: 9%)
Suen (km 118.3): 13.6 km at 6.8% (max: 10%)
