PROS – Team Cofidis Partners with Isola 2000 Resort

The Cofidis team announces this new partnership with the town hall of Isola, which includes the famous resort of Isola 2000. A team training camp is scheduled there from May 9 to prepare for the demands of the mountains before the major events later in the season, particularly the Tour de France.

The commune is a true paradise for cyclists, and the resort enjoys a particularly interesting location. Easily accessible from anywhere in Europe thanks to its proximity to Nice airport, the commune of Isola and its eponymous resort offer all the attractions for professional riders thanks to its altitude, its many demanding roads, and its ability to facilitate oxygenation.

Many high-level athletes, across all disciplines, stay there before major events, and the Cofidis riders are among them. The UCI World Tour team will, like last year, head to the steep roads of the resort. This training camp will take place from Sunday, May 9 to Saturday, May 22. Thanks to this new partnership, the riders will be able to train in the best conditions in Isola 2000 and best prepare for the major events later in the season.

Leader Guillaume Martin and some of his teammates will thus take the opportunity to perfect their preparation for what promises to be an intense summer, with the Tour de France in their sights. Samuel Bellenoue, Cofidis team performance manager, is dedicated to organizing this training camp, which will allow everyone to benefit from Isola’s appeal.

The team is also strengthening its ties with the commune in the Alpes-Maritimes. Indeed, chef Lionel Le Mer, who works in Isola, will be attached to the team during the Critérium du Dauphiné and during the Tour de France. This partnership with the commune of Isola also demonstrates the Cofidis team’s permanent desire to continue to develop and progress in order to shine in the most prestigious competitions of the UCI World Tour season.

Being in the southern Alps allows us to benefit from very favorable weather conditions. Last year, we reconned stages of the Tour de France there. This season, we will take advantage of the proximity to the Mercantour to follow up with the race that takes place there. It’s a varied territory with long passes that allows for good training in magnificent landscapes. And we were very well received by Lionel (Le Mer), who has become a chef for the team.
