KASK today unveils a preview of its latest road model: the Wasabi. The Wasabi is presented as a high-performance cycling helmet, designed to be worn in all seasons by road, gravel, and cyclocross cyclists.
Featuring an adjustable ventilation port that allows the wearer to easily increase or decrease ventilation depending on conditions, the Wasabi offers optimal comfort and thermoregulation. This feature, combined with a quality merino wool lining made by Italian specialist REDA, a refined style, and an aerodynamic profile, places the Wasabi at the forefront of KASK’s high-end cycling helmet range. Developed in close collaboration with the INEOS Grenadiers team in its design and development, the Wasabi made its first competitive appearance at Strade Bianche.
The Wasabi therefore promises temperature regulation, thanks to its adjustable airflow system. With a simple push of a finger, a centralized vent can be opened when conditions start to heat up, or closed when things cool down for an internal temperature increase of 1.5 ℃, when riding at the same speed. And Kask claims less than one watt lost between opening and closing the helmet vent at 50 km/h, based on wind tunnel tests that confirm the aerodynamic qualities of the model (though less aero than a Utopia).
The helmet is equipped with KASK’s Octo Fit head retention system (a mechanism that allows vertical and horizontal adjustment for an ideal fit). Despite the integration of the advanced adjustable ventilation system, the Wasabi weighs 290 g in a size Medium. The model has been rigorously tested against linear and rotational impacts in an independent laboratory, striking flat and inclined surfaces.
