Team Movistar has unveiled a major new feature for 2021: the Movistar Team Challenge, a series of events and competitions in collaboration with Zwift and Global Cycling Network, to join the Movistar E-Team, 10 athletes from around the world who will race on Zwift in the Movistar jersey.
The Direto XR for the first WorldTour eSport team
This is the first eSport team of a World Tour team. Elite Cycling provides the team’s technical equipment by offering athletes an Elite pain cave that includes the Direto XR trainer and the electronic Sterzo Smart steering plate. The team’s riders will use the indoor trainer during training and in competitions on the Zwift Racing League calendar.

Out of 300 participants, 5 women and 5 men will be selected to wear the Spanish team’s jersey at the Zwift Racing League events after the selections. The first selection event took place on February 3, while all races will bring the number of athletes competing in the final challenge series to 40, starting on March 1.
The 10 selected athletes will sign a collaboration contract with the Movistar E-Team, which will entitle them to numerous benefits reserved for the non-virtual team, including the Direto XR indoor trainer, an official Canyon bike from the Movistar Team, the opportunity to participate in the training camp, and many more.
