Garmin launches a new Garmin Enduro GPS watch.

Garmin introduces Enduro: the multisport GPS watch designed for ultra-endurance. 30% lighter than a Fēnix 6X, it is equipped with a Power Glass™ solar lens that extends battery life up to 65 days1 in smartwatch mode. Enduro also integrates customizable options to regulate energy consumption, and new features dedicated to training and trail running.

“Designed to go the distance during ultra-endurance training and events, Enduro gives ultra-runners and ultra-cyclists the confidence of wearing a watch with as much energy as they have, with direct access to the data they need to regulate and optimize their performance,” says Dan Bartel, Garmin Vice President of Global Consumer Sales. “With Enduro on their wrist, ultra-endurance athletes can focus on the competition without worrying about their watch’s battery life.”

Created especially for endurance athletes, Enduro’s compact and durable case is paired with a new flexible 6g UltraFit nylon strap and a stainless steel or titanium bezel with DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating, depending on the version. Designed to last, runners and cyclists can easily disable certain functions and sensors to benefit from unprecedented battery life for a Garmin watch. Fully charged, the battery offers athletes up to 80 hours in GPS mode thanks to solar charging and 300 hours in UltraTrac GPS mode. For extreme adventurers like ultra-runner Luca Papi, whose challenges easily exceed 300 km, or ultra-cyclist and adventurer Steven Le Hyaric, record holder of the Paris-Dakar by bike (5622 km covered in 20 days), the extended battery life thanks to solar technology makes perfect sense.

New training tools

Designed for all race conditions, Enduro offers several training and recovery tools. Many functions have been developed to meet the specific needs of endurance athletes:

  • Trail Run VO2 Max which tracks cardiovascular fitness level VO2 Max taking into account terrain elevation. The user’s VO2 Max will also be adjusted according to the environment in which they train, taking into account heat and altitude acclimatization.
  • ClimbProTM Trail which provides real-time distance, gradient percentage, and elevation gain information on ascents, descents, and flat sections of a course.
  • The UltraRun activity profile to better manage time spent at aid stations, thanks to the timer, and avoid losing too much time on the total duration of the event.
  • The MTB application that tracks all the details of each MTB ride by precisely indicating the position, duration, and length of each jump and also analyzes the quality of riding and the difficulty of the terrain to have a record to beat on the next ride.
  • Recovery to allow the body time to recover between each session is crucial. After each session, this integrated tool recommends a recovery time to observe before the next physical effort, taking into account sleep and daily activity.
  • Training recommendation that provides suggestions for daily routes and outings based on your training level.

Daily activity and wellness tracking

Enduro offers new options in terms of health and wellness tracking, including a heart rate measurement tool2, a Pulse Ox3 sensor for altitude acclimatization, and an advanced feature for precise sleep tracking. In addition, the new exclusive Garmin Body Battery™ tool collects data to measure physical energy levels to optimize the planning of exercise and rest times.

Stay connected even off-grid

It is imperative to stay connected in all circumstances. Enduro benefits from navigation and connectivity tools including access to various satellite systems (GPS/GLONASS/Galileo) for orientation, even in the most difficult conditions where GPS alone is not enough. In addition, Enduro contains ABC sensors such as an altimeter, a barometer, and a three-axis electronic compass.

When the watch is paired with an inReach® Mini satellite communication beacon, users can send and receive messages from their wrist and share their location with friends and family so they can track them during their longest runs and training sessions, even off the phone network.

InReach Mini is lightweight, compact, and easily clips onto clothing or a bag. In addition to messaging and location sharing functions, the inReach Mini allows for triggering an interactive SOS. When activated, a Garmin IERCC (International Emergency Response Coordination Center) coordinator can track the device’s location, organize nearby rescue efforts, and stay in communication with the injured person and their pre-registered emergency contacts until rescue personnel take over.

Price and availability

The models are available now, priced at €799.99 for the stainless steel version and €899.99 for the titanium version with DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating.
