Custom blue-white-red paint for the Lapierre Aircode DRS of the 2020 French Triathlon Champion, Léonie Périault.

As the cycling partner of the Poissy Triathlon club, Lapierre had a nice surprise in store for the 2020 French Short-Distance Triathlon Champion, Léonie Périault. Visiting the Dijon-based company’s premises, the athlete from the Paris region expected to receive a model identical to those of her partners Cassandre Beaugrand and Dorian Coninx. But she ultimately made the pleasant discovery of a Lapierre Aircode DRS personalized in the colors of her first individual French title, to support her in 2021.

Unique design, custom colors and graphics were conceived within the Lapierre offices.

In terms of equipment, Léonie Périault’s Lapierre Aircode DRS, the latest creation from the company’s design offices, is equipped with a Shimano Ultegra Di2 drivetrain, with a 52/36 crankset and an 11-28 cassette, which the athlete can adjust according to her desires and use.

The 45mm Mavic Cosmic SLR wheels are combined with Hutchinson Fusion 5 tires (in the same vein, the athlete can also opt for lower Mavic rim depths depending on her use and preferences).

Léonie Périault’s Lapierre Aircode DRS features the Lapierre Aero UD Carbon handlebar (which allows for the addition of extensions) and the Lapierre stem, through which the cables are routed.

While the Lapierre Aircode DRS currently features a Fi’zi:k saddle, a former partner of Poissy Triathlon, the bike should soon be fitted with a PRO saddle, on the Lapierre Aero Carbon seatpost. The cockpit features the Lapierre UD Aero Carbon handlebar combined with the Lapierre stem, and its subtle integration. Zéfal equips the bike with bottle cages (Zéfal Pulse L2) and bottles (Zéfal Sense Pro 65). In terms of weight, this Lapierre DRS in size S (for 1m68), in its version with low-profile Mavic rims, weighs approximately 7.4 kg.

Léonie Périault’s Lapierre Aircode DRS is a unique model.

As a champion’s privilege, the Lapierre Aircode DRS in this color and with its graphics defined within the Dijon-based company, is obviously not offered in the French brand’s 2021 range. But there is no doubt that this paint job, carried out by the Accell group’s service provider in the Netherlands (who works for many professional teams), will catch the eye of many enthusiasts!
