New SRAM RED eTap AXS 36T MAX Rear Derailleur

SRAM introduces a new SRAM RED eTap AXS 36T Max rear derailleur, compatible with single or double chainring cranksets, and 10-28, 10-33, and 10-36 cassettes, thus accepting a 36-tooth cog. This new model will cost €685, and the cassette €190, with availability announced for February 2021.

SRAM launches a new SRAM RED eTap AXS 36T MAX rear derailleur.

The new SRAM RED eTap AXS 36T Max rear derailleur has been developed to allow you to climb the steepest slopes. Whether it’s just the desire to tackle the toughest climbs or the goal of saving energy to finish the last climb of a long day in the high mountains, the new SRAM Red eTap AXS 36T Max rear derailleur offers the possibility of mounting smaller gears, which may be necessary on very steep slopes or on a day with significant elevation gain. The SRAM RED eTap AXS 36T Max rear derailleur extends the possibilities of the SRAM RED groupset. First launched on the Force eTap AXS groupset, the SRAM RED groupset now features a gear ratio lower than 1:1, so you no longer have to fear climbs over 20% or the toughest terrain.

The SRAM RED eTap AXS 36T Max rear derailleur works with the XG-1270 10-36 cassette and is compatible with 10-28, 10-33, and 10-36 cassettes to always have the most suitable gears. Compatible with single and double chainring cranksets to customize the drivetrain as desired.

X-SYNC pulleys and ceramic bearings for the new SRAM RED eTap AXS 36T Max rear derailleur.

The Orbit chain management system, X-SYNC pulleys, and ceramic bearings promise to combine silence, efficiency, and durability.

The new SRAM Red eTap AXS 36T Max derailleur will be sold at a price of €685.

New SRAM Force cassettes will feature a nickel-chrome finish.

SRAM specifies that from February 2021, Force cassettes will switch to a Nickel-Chrome finish. The 10-36T cassette is only compatible with RED and Force 36T Max rear derailleurs. Available cassette sizes are: 10-28T, 10-33T, and 10-36T (note that the 10-26T will no longer exist).

The SRAM RED eTap AXS D1 12-speed 36T rear derailleur (battery not included) will be sold at a price of €685, and the XG-1270 D1 Silver 12-speed 10-28T, XG-1270 D1 Silver 12-speed 10-33T, and XG-1270 D1 Silver 12-speed 10-36T cassettes, at €190.

Expect to pay €190 for the cassette, regardless of the tooth combination (10-28, 10-33, or 10-36).
