Cédric Gosse Elected President of the French Triathlon Federation

Representatives of the French Triathlon Federation clubs met on Saturday, December 12, 2020, via videoconference, to elect the new Federal Board of Directors, which will officially take office on January 1, 2021. This was the first election by list ballot within the F.F.TRI.

Cédric Gosse, head of the winning list, obtained the position of President of the French Triathlon Federation for the 2021-2024 Olympic cycle, with 77.3% of the votes (85,063 votes out of 110,013 voters). He succeeds Philippe Lescure, who had been in office since 2001.

Cédric Gosse, the new President of the French Triathlon Federation.

Cédric Gosse’s first words:

“I sincerely thank the club representatives for their trust. It is with great emotion that my team and I receive this victory today in the election of our beautiful and young federation.

We have received very broad support and we will honor the trust placed in us.

This victory is collective. Alongside me on this list were 16 women and 16 men, reflecting the diversity of territories and triathlon.

It is therefore the victory of a team that has invested itself in bringing a project to life.

I am very proud of this collective and I share this success with each and every one of them. We recognize the full responsibility that falls upon us.

The trust placed in me also reflects 25 years of commitment to triathlon and the sports movement. My conviction to be alongside and closest to the field actors, those who give life and meaning to our sport daily, is reinforced by the expression of this vote.

We must now stand in solidarity to emerge from the Coronavirus crisis, and the federation will be active in supporting its clubs and organizers during these difficult times.

It will be time, starting January 1, 2021, to implement what we have committed to for the next 4 years.

I would like to conclude with a few words for our president, Mr. Philippe Lescure:

I believe in the power of transmission. I salute his commitment to bringing together and uniting all the women and men of our federation in a desire for collective construction. This path that you have opened and drawn, Philippe, is full of meaning. It is laid out, we take it with humility. »
