Starting November 16, 2020, cycling fans can take on the challenge of becoming a True Flandrien by tackling an incredible route through the roads of Flanders. The goal of this challenge is to complete 59 Strava segments in less than 72 hours, traversing a legendary route through the heart of the Flemish hills and cobblestone roads.
The Flandrien Challenge is a cycling challenge where the digital and physical worlds intersect. It maps Strava’s digital segments onto the surfaces of numerous climbs and cobblestone roads in Flanders. It’s a unique physical challenge paired with a highly innovative digital experience!
To win the Flandrien Challenge, each participant must cycle to unlock all 59 segments in less than 72 hours. The segments include legendary roads such as the Oude Kwaremont, the Koppenberg, and the Paterberg.
Champions who
The Flandrien Challenge is an “open-route” challenge, although three suggested itineraries are provided to help you combine a sporting challenge with exploring the iconic landscapes of Flanders, the cradle of cycling. This challenge can be completed at any time: today, tomorrow, in six months, in the coming years, or even right in the middle of the spring classics season. In fact, there’s no end date, so every cyclist can take on the challenge at least once in their lifetime! Enthusiasts can train and prepare for the challenge as much as they like from home before setting off on an adventure in Flanders, as soon as we can travel safely again.

All cycling enthusiasts and fans ready to take on the challenge… and complete the segments in less than 72 hours! Conquer the Flemish hills and cobblestones—don’t let yourself get discouraged, and push your limits! Thanks to its small size, the Flemish region is easy to explore and suitable for all skill levels.
