Garmin today unveils the new Tacx Boost, a robust and quiet indoor trainer, featuring a powerful magnetic brake and a manual resistance control device, to allow cyclists to train all year round while enjoying an ultra-realistic experience.
Features and performance
Easy to use and designed for cyclists of all levels, the Boost offers several comprehensive training features:
– A powerful magnetic brake that allows resistance to be adjusted to get the most out of every workout.
– A handlebar-mounted lever that manually controls resistance through 10 levels, for a maximum power of 1,050 watts.
– A flywheel generating a smooth and realistic pedaling sensation as well as an isolated resistance unit for very quiet operation.
– Accurate tracking of speed, distance traveled and virtual power (used to estimate the user’s actual power) by pairing a speed sensor1 with applications such as Tacx Training, Zwift or TrainerRoad.
– Use without an external power source to train anywhere.
The Boost is easy to set up and configure – it only takes a few seconds to get started. The multi-function front wheel support ensures a natural pedaling position, while also serving as a handle for transporting the device outside of workouts.
Availability
Available soon on the brand’s website and in retail networks, the Tacx Boost is sold at a suggested retail price of €249.99. A bundled offer including a speed sensor, as well as a 30-day Tacx premium subscription, is available as an option, at a suggested retail price of €279.99.
